043 FNUS72 KTAE 111225 FWSTAE Spot Forecast for Rocky Comfort RX...FFS National Weather Service Tallahassee FL 825 AM EDT Fri Apr 11 2025 Forecast is based on ignition time of 0900 EDT on April 11. A front sweeping through the region ushers breezy northwest winds and a drying airmass today (min RH around 32%). Combined with forecast mixing heights exceeding 7000 ft yields very high dispersions beginning about 1PM EDT and persisting until this evening. Low dispersions are forecast from ignition time until 11AM EDT, thus only giving a 2-hr window for favorable LDSI. Such conditions should keep smoke away from I-10, but probably feed it into west to SW parts of Tallahassee, such as the KTLH airport. Lastly, there is a low chance for an isolated shower or thunderstorm this afternoon (between about 4PM & 6PM EDT) at the burn site with better potential in the Eastern FL Big Bend. However, it would not be surprising to hear thunder and/or experience gusty/erratic winds from distant storms to the east.
