...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TUESDAY TO 8
PM PDT SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures of 100 to 110,
  locally up to 115 across the far northern Sacramento Valley.
  Limited overnight relief with low temperatures in the mid 60s to
  near 80. Resultant widespread Major HeatRisk, with areas of
  Extreme HeatRisk.

* WHERE...Carquinez Strait and Delta, Sacramento Valley, Northern
  San Joaquin Valley, and surrounding foothills.

* WHEN...From 11 AM Tuesday to 8 PM PDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat events, particularly for those working or
  participating in outdoor activities.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heat could significantly impact outdoor
  holiday activities. Hottest temperatures are expected to be on
  Wednesday, but continue into next weekend. Area waterways will
  continue to run cold and fast, creating dangerous conditions for
  those seeking relief in rivers and lakes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
