.DISCUSSION...

.SYNOPSIS...
The weather pattern over the next several days trends drier and
warmer, with warmest temperatures of the forecast period and
accompanying Moderate HeatRisk anticipated from Friday into the
weekend. A trend toward more seasonable temperatures then looks to
follow by early next week.

.KEY MESSAGES...

*Tuesday-Thursday:
 - Gradual warming and drying trend continues through mid week as
   Desert Southwest and East Pacific ridging amplifies.
 - Periodically breezy onshore flow persists as split flow aloft
   remains over interior NorCal.
 - Near to slightly above normal high temperatures expected with
   widespread 90s through the Valley, Delta, and foothills.

*Friday-Sunday:
 - Temperatures warm above normal through the weekend, with
   accompanying Moderate HeatRisk across the Valley and foothills.
 - Probability of high temperatures > 100F:
   --Northern Sacramento Valley: 60-90%
   --Valley/foothills elsewhere: 30-60%
 - Dry weather and onshore flow to continue. Lighter winds
   anticipated Friday and Saturday, becoming breezy again by
   Sunday.

*Next Week:
 - East Pacific ridge axis aloft looks to amplify further
   westward toward the Gulf of Alaska into next week.
 - Gradual cooling trend expected across interior NorCal with
   seasonable temperatures and periodically breezy onshore flow
   returning.

- No major changes from previous forecast.

.AVIATION...
Generally VFR conditions expected to prevail next 24 hours across
interior NorCal. Breezy onshore surface winds up to 12 kts
expected through Valley and Delta with gusts to 15 kts in the
Valley until 06Z Wednesday and up to 20 kts in the Delta and
vicinity area until 12z Wednesday.
