.Synopsis...
Gusty southerly winds and low relative humidity bring elevated
fire weather conditions across the Sacramento Valley today. A
weather system will bring chances for light showers, mountain snow
showers and isolated thunderstorms Monday through Tuesday. Drier
weather will follow with seasonable temperatures and occasionally
breezy winds.

* Today:
 -Gusty southerly winds develop today ahead of an approaching
  weather system
 -Wind Advisory is in effect through 1 AM Monday for the
  northeast foothills and the northern/central Sacramento Valley,
  strongest winds along and east of I-5 mainly from Chico
  northward with gusts of 40 to 50 mph
 -Elevated fire weather conditions today as gusty southerly winds
  and low relative humidity overlap in the Sacramento Valley

* Monday - Tuesday:
 -Light showers and mountain snow showers expected as the weather
  system moves through
 -50-80% probability of rain > 0.25" mainly across northern
  Sacramento Valley, northern Sierra north of Hwy 50, and adjacent
  foothills
 -15-30% probability of isolated thunderstorms Monday and
  Tuesday, highest across north/central Sacramento Valley,
  foothills and mountains
 -20-50% probability of 2" snow along the Sierra above 5500 feet,
  70-90% probability in the southern Cascades/Lassen Peak

* Mid to Late Week:
 -Dry weather, seasonable temperatures and occasionally breezy
  winds

.Changes from previous forecast...
 -Potential for elevated fire weather conditions in the Valley from
  increased north to east flow late next weekend

.AVIATION...
VFR conditions across all TAF sites next 24 hours. Gusty
southerly winds 15-25 kts in the lower elevations with gusts 20-40
kts, and 30-50 kts gusts over the Sierra out of the southwest
until 08z Monday, and again after 12z Monday with gusts up to
25-30 kts in the Valley and up to 30-40 kts over the mountains.
There is a 10-30% chance of isolated thunderstorms across the
northern Sacramento Valley, foothills, and mountains from 18z
Monday - 03z Tuesday, with brief periods of MVFR conditions. Gusty
and erratic winds near thunderstorms.
