Valid 00Z Mon Mar 10 2025 - 00Z Wed Mar 12 2025

...Moderate to heavy rain across the Deep South and Southeast
through tonight into Monday...

...Much milder than normal conditions across northern tier states
will be replaced by sharply colder air on Tuesday...

...Dry across a large portion of the country but unsettled weather
expected for the Pacific Northwest, southern California, and
northern New England...

A low pressure system tracking near the Gulf Coast will be the
main weather maker for the next couple of days as much of the rest
of the country will enjoy fine weather. Rain associated with the
low pressure system will be moderate to heavy at times along with
embedded thunderstorms across the interior Deep South and the
Southeast through tonight and into Monday. Isolated Flash
Flooding is possible from the Florida Panhandle to the Southeast
Coast where between 2-4 inches of rain is forecast to fall by
Tuesday morning. The low pressure system is forecast to intensify
on Monday as it begins to move off the Southeast coast into the
Atlantic. Winds are expected to become strong and gusty near the
Carolina coastline Monday night as the rain possibly lingers into
the early hours on Tuesday before tapering off by Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, warm air will continue to expand across the northern
tier states where high temperatures are expected to reach into the
70s as far north as the southeastern corner of North Dakota by
Monday afternoon to the south of an elongated low pressure system
tracking along an arctic front across southern Canada. Arctic air
that has been bottled up in Canada will be unleashed into the
Plains on Tuesday behind the arctic front with low temperatures
plunging into the single digits Tuesday morning near the Canadian
border along with very gusty winds especially over the northern
High Plains. The arctic plunge will reach into the Central Plains
by Tuesday evening.

Periods of snow and snow showers are expected from upstate New
York into northern New England through tonight as a wave of low
pressure passes through. The wave will move east and dissipate
later on Tuesday followed by a warming trend down into the East
Coast, across the Ohio Valley, mid-Mississippi Valley and the
Southern Plains on Tuesday.

Unsettled weather will continue across the Pacific Northwest with
the passage of a Pacific front. Meanwhile, another cyclone
farther south off the West Coast will develop and head toward the
Southwest, bringing rain into southern California by Tuesday.
