.DISCUSSION...A monsoonal type push of moisture will result in a
continuation of a somewhat active weather pattern. For Thursday,
anticipate isolated showers and thunderstorms to develop through
the afternoon and evening hours. A few lingering showers will
remain a possibility overnight. A similar forecast evolution is
expected throughout Independence Day, with isolated to scattered
showers and thunderstorms developing from late morning onward
throughout the day. Activity is expected to trend downwards in
coverage and strength after around 9pm Friday. Any stronger
activity over/near the event site will have the potential to
result in lightning, brief periods of moderate to heavy rain, and
gusty erratic outflow winds. In general, expect peak wind gusts
from stronger outflow in the 35-50 mph range. Outside of these
potential showers/thunderstorms, winds will favor a southerly
direction with more modest gusts up to 20-25 mph or so.
