.DISCUSSION...Fairly widespread rain showers will fill in over
the burn site late tonight into through Wednesday as a storm
system moves into Utah. Coverage and intensity of precipitation
will then begin to decrease after around 1500-1600 Wednesday, but
as cooler air works its way in behind a cold front, snow levels
will lower, allowing snow to mix with rain during the afternoon
before transitioning to all snow Wednesday night. Occasional snow
showers will then continue through Thursday before tapering off.
Between 0.5-1.25 inches of precipitation can be expected from
Tuesday evening through Thursday evening, with 3-7 inches of snow.
Winds will increase for several hours Wednesday afternoon out of
the west-southwest behind a cold front, otherwise winds are
expected to remain generally on the light side. Mixing
conditions will be excellent on Wednesday, but as cooler and more
stable air settles into the area Thursday along with lighter
winds, expect mixing to be reduced.
