.DISCUSSION...An area of low pressure is moving into the Great Basin which
is resulting in light showers developing across southwestern
Utah. Most of this is not reaching the ground given the dry
surface conditions. This will likely remain the case until later
tonight as the low gets closer and the surface moistens a bit
more. Expect a few isolated showers overnight with a slight uptick
tomorrow as the low moves overhead. Morning showers will
gradually transition to some embedded thunderstorms in the
afternoon that will be capable of producing frequent lightning,
gusty and erratic winds, and brief heavy rain. These storms will
be moving quickly so that will limit the flash flooding to
potential. If storms train over the same location for a long
period of time then flash flooding will be possible, but that is
<5% chance of occurring.

This activity pushes out of the area by Tuesday night and will
remain dry and stable on Wednesday and Thursday. Warm days and
cool nights will be the pattern with light and diurnally driven
winds (i.e. upslope winds during the day and drainage winds at
night).
