...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO MIDNIGHT MDT
TONIGHT...

.DISCUSSION...Hot temperatures are expected today, with high
temperatures topping out near 100 degrees this afternoon. In
addition to the heat, scattered high-based thunderstorms are
expected to develop this afternoon across Utah Valley. Any storms
that develop are not expected to produce much in the way of
precipitation, with the main concern being the threat for gusty
outflow winds. There is a 30% chance for thunderstorms to produce
wind gusts to 40 mph in the vicinity of the event this afternoon.

Looking ahead, temperatures cool slightly through the remainder
of the week as moisture increases across the region. This will
yield daily chances for thunderstorms with better potential for
wetting rains through Thursday, but gusty outflow winds remain
possible.
