...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 9 PM MDT
THURSDAY FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONE
479...

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...Enhanced southwesterly winds will combine
with humidities in the single digits to low teens and generally
poor overnight recoveries to produce critical fire weather
conditions across all but northwestern Utah through at least
Thursday and into Friday for most areas.

.DISCUSSION...A warm southwesterly flow aloft will remain in place
over the area through at least Thursday. A brief increase in
midlevel moisture today across southeast Utah will bring a few
high-based showers and isolated thunderstorms with a threat of
gusty and erratic outflow winds to portions of the southern and
central Utah mountains and eastern valleys before drier air
spreads back into the area tonight. Humidities across the south
and east will also respond to the brief moisture plume with a
slight rise today, but overall, afternoon relative humidities
will remain below 15% with generally poor overnight recoveries
for the majority of the area into late week. Breezy surface winds
will combine with the low humidities to continue to bring
critical fire weather conditions to the area through Friday,
especially portions of central and southern Utah. Winds will be
strongest on Thursday ahead of a dry cold front which will enter
northern Utah Thursday night into Friday morning before stalling
across central Utah Friday into Saturday. Winds will gradually
trend weaker behind the cold front while temperatures trend
cooler.

***Thunderstorms imply strong, gusty and erratic winds***
***All winds are 20 foot, 10-minute averages***
