Subject: The National Weather Service (NWS) in San Juan is formally
announcing the discontinuation of the legacy Hazardous Weather
Outlook (HWO) text product on December 15th, 2025.

While the Hazardous Weather Outlook (HWO) legacy product is being
discontinued , we are actively promoting the experimental Graphical
Hazardous Weather Outlook (GHWO). https://www.weather.gov/erh/ghwo?wfo=sju

The GHWO serves as a decision aid to significantly enhance preparedness
and response efforts prior to and during hazardous weather. The
meteorological and scientific reasoning that supplements the GHWO,
including insights into forecast confidence, is detailed in the Area
Forecast Discussion (AFD) product. The AFD is primarily used to provide
the meteorological/scientific reasoning behind the forecast. You can
access the AFD product on the National Weather Service website.
