A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas...
  Atlantic Waters of Puerto Rico AND USVI from 10 NM to 19.5N...

At 1110 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated a line of strong thunderstorms,
capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms
are just over the northwestern portions of our local waters but
will continue to spread over the offshore Atlantic Waters throughout
the night. They are moving southeast at 15 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek
safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.

These strong thunderstorms will likely produce winds in excess of
34 knots, and is likely to pose a serious hazard for boaters. A
special marine warning will likely be required when these storms
reach the nearshore waters. Boaters should consider heading for
shore before these storms arrive.

Intense lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.

Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
forecast office.
