Additional rain chances possible by next weekend. && .SHORT TERM... (This evening through Monday) Issued at 1225 PM CDT Sun Aug 24 2025 For tonight and Monday, an upper level ridge will become more elongated and extend from Texas northwest to the Four Corners area, and then north into western Wyoming. This be our dominant weather feature through Monday. With associated subsidence, skies will be mostly clear. Overnight lows will be mostly in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Expect highs Monday to be a little warmer than today and in the mid to upper 90s. This to occur with 850mb thermal ridge expanding east into our area, ahead of an approaching cold front from the Red River. && .LONG TERM... (Monday through Saturday) Issued at 1221 AM CDT Sun Aug 24 2025 Dry and warm conditions will persist into Monday, as the upper ridge remains centered west of the area. Temperatures will remain near normal for Monday, with afternoon highs ranging from the low to mid 90s south, to the mid and upper 90s north. Models continue to show a weak cold front moving into the area by Tuesday, with the front lingering into Wednesday. Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible Tuesday into Wednesday, along with cooler temperatures. Highs both days are expected to be in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Isolated storms still possible on Thursday, along with warmer temperatures, with highs back in the low to upper 90s. Models show another front moving into the area late Friday into Saturday, with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible once again. Highs on Friday will still be in the 90s, with temperatures falling into the mid and upper 80s by next weekend. && .AVIATION...
