.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Sunday)
Issued at 215 PM CST Sat Nov 9 2024

Quiet weather can be expected for our area through Sunday.
Initially southwest flow aloft over our area will become quasi-
zonal on Sunday, as an upper level low (currently over the central
Plains) moves northeast into the Upper Midwest. With a weak
surface pressure gradient across our area, wind speeds will be
mostly less than 10 mph. Patchy cloud cover over southern and
central parts of our area will decrease in coverage tonight, and
skies will be sunny on Sunday. Lows tonight will be generally in
the 40s. With ample sunshine and an increase in 850mb
temperatures, highs on Sunday are expected to be warmer in the
lower to mid 70s across the Big Country, and in the mid to upper
70s farther south with some locations reaching or exceeding 80
degrees.

.LONG TERM...
(Sunday night through next Saturday)
Issued at 210 PM CST Sat Nov 9 2024

Overall dry and pleasant conditions should continue for early
next week weak ridging builds over Texas. High temperatures should
gradually warm back up into the mid to upper 70s for Veterans`
Day, then around 80 on Tuesday. By Wednesday, an upper-level
shortwave trough is expected move over the northern and central
Plains. This would push a weak cold front into west central Texas
and lower temperatures by a few degrees. Models hint at some low
chances for rain north of Interstate 20 from this front, but for
now, the forecast was kept dry for Wednesday. Toward the end of
the week, warm and breezy conditions should set up as strong
southerly return flow occurs ahead of another system. Models show
this system digging into southern California. Depending on how
this evolves, this would place west central Texas into an active
pattern under southwest flow aloft for next weekend.
