.KEY MESSAGES...

- Frost and possible light freeze for overnight Sunday into Monday
  morning, mainly in low-lying areas.

- Increased potential for elevated to critical fire weather
  conditions across all of West Central Texas much of the upcoming
  week.

.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Monday)
Issued at 1235 PM CDT Sun Mar 9 2025

High pressure will slowly settle into West Central Texas tonight,
with winds becoming light and variable overnight, and skies
continuing to clear out of the area. With mostly clear skies
tonight and some radiational cooling expected, cooler overnight
low temperatures in the 30s are expected overnight tonight into
Monday morning. There is even some potential for some frost or a
light freeze in some low-lying areas. High temperatures jump back
into the 70s tomorrow under mostly sunny skies and some downsloping
from the breezy southwesterly winds Monday afternoon.

.LONG TERM...
(Monday night through next Sunday)
Issued at 214 PM CDT Sun Mar 9 2025

Expect mainly above normal temperatures and dry weather for this
week. Expect low level southerly flow and warm 850 temperatures to
result in highs in the 70s and 80s. Overnight lows will remain well
above freezing for the rest of the week. A storm system on Wednesday
will being windy and dry conditions resulting in critical fire
weather conditions across the southern Concho Valley, Northern
Edwards Plateau and Northwest Hill Country. Expect elevated to near
critical fire danger elsewhere. On Friday, a very strong storm
system over the Plains(sub 984 MB low over southwest Nebraska 12Z
Friday) will bring very windy and dry conditions, behind a
dryline which will result in widespread critical fire weather
conditions. Expect breezy to windy conditions Saturday behind a
cold front and cooler temperatures.

Issued at 1235 PM CDT Sun Mar 9 2025

Some lingering MVFR to low VFR ceilings persist across the KBBD,
KSJT and KJCT terminals, and are expected to improve to VFR
ceilings within the next hour or two (by 20Z). Breezy north to
northwesterly winds will continue through this afternoon and begin
to diminish this evening, becoming light and variable across all
terminals through Monday morning. Otherwise, VFR conditions are
expected overnight into Monday morning.
