113 FXUS64 KSJT 041103 AFDSJT Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service San Angelo TX 603 AM CDT Mon Aug 4 2025 ...New AVIATION... .KEY MESSAGES... - Showers and thunderstorms are possible Monday morning, mainly across our eastern counties. A few strong to severe storms are possible. Locally heavy rainfall is also possible. - Hot and dry conditions will return through next weekend. && .SHORT TERM... (Today and tonight) Issued at 1238 AM CDT Mon Aug 4 2025 A complex of thunderstorms is tracking southeast across western Oklahoma early this morning. The current track of this complex would keep it to the east of West Central Texas and most CAMs agree with this solution. Will keep an eye on these storms through the morning hours, but expect most of the activity to remain east of our area. Additional isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible this afternoon, mainly across our southeast counties. A few CAMs indicate isolated showers and thunderstorms farther north and west, into the Concho Valley, but confidence is low, so for now have kept PoPs confined to our southeast counties. Another hot day is forecast across the region with highs in the low to mid 90s across our eastern counties and in the mid 90s to near 100 across our western counties. Expect overnight lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s. && .LONG TERM... (Tuesday through Sunday) Issued at 1238 AM CDT Mon Aug 4 2025 An upper level high is currently centered near southern AZ early this morning. This upper ridge will meander into New Mexico later this week, and then back towards the New Mexico/Arizona state line by next weekend. At the same time, the ridge will strengthen and expand farther into Texas this week. This will result in hot temperatures and a mainly dry forecast for west central Texas through next weekend. && .AVIATION... (12Z TAFS) Issued at 602 AM CDT Mon Aug 4 2025 VFR conditions will prevail through the next 24 hours. Expect light winds to become southeast and increase to 8 to 12 knots this afternoon. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible this afternoon, but coverage should remain isolated enough to not include thunder in the current TAF package. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
