Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest Arkansas...
Northwest Louisiana...East Texas...and Extreme Southeast Oklahoma
National Weather Service Shreveport LA
205 PM CDT Tue Jul 8 2025

.DISCUSSION...

We have a nice Thunderstorm sandwich coming together with light
NW flow aloft over our I-30 corridor. And we have an early sea
breeze coming up off the Gulf, as a weak upper low developed
south of Lake Charles last night. Convective activity is becoming
scattered to even numerous for areas in our I-30 corridor and
northward with a good amount of peppered cells along and south of
I-20. Slow storm movement could bring an inch or two, and
coverage will be good today and again tomorrow with the same set
up. Later in the week, we will see another weak upper low in the
westerlies bring light NW flow across I-30, helping to keep the
rain falling into the weekend. The heat ridge will built a couple
of days late, now into early next week as PoPs dwindle and
temperatures climb back above average.
