Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest Arkansas...
Northwest Louisiana...East Texas...and Extreme Southeast Oklahoma
National Weather Service Shreveport LA
303 PM CDT Wed Oct 15 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Extended summer afternoon temps still linger under the latest
upper level ridge, which has peaked and will be slowly moving
E/SE over the next day. The associated surface high is over the
Great Lakes and the NE winds flowing down the MS River Valley are
about to shift to E/SE and even S/SW by the weekend. This is good
news to boost our RH values going forward ahead of the next cold
front early Sunday. Rainfall totals remain quarter to half inch
over our deep E TX zones and an inch plus along and east of I-49.
The main push will be late day and overnight with some severe
threat still possible as the upper low is vigorous. The pattern of
dry is starting to show signs of change with more rain possible
by Tuesday.
