.DISCUSSION...
A slow warming trend will continue tonight through at least the first half of
the upcoming weekend, although below normal temperatures are expected through
the period. Dry conditions will persist through Saturday as well, with better RH
recovery expected over the next few nights in wake of this arctic air mass.
South winds, gusty at times this afternoon over East Texas and Southeast Oklahoma,
will decouple tonight in wake of a weak surface frontal passage. No noticeably cooler
or drier air will follow this front, although 20ft winds will become north-northwest
5-10 mph Thursday before becoming more west-southwest Friday. Low level moisture
will gradually increase during the day Saturday ahead of another weak front, which
will slow its southeastward progress as soon as it moves over the area Sunday.
This front and weak disturbances aloft will focus scattered to numerous showers
and a few thunderstorms over the area late Saturday night and Sunday, before
diminishing by Monday as the front slips south of the area. However, the front may
begin to lift back north over the area by mid-week next week, providing an
increase in showers and a few thunderstorms by that time.
