.DISCUSSION...
Mostly clear skies and cooler conditions have settled over the
fire districts this morning in wake of yesterday`s cold front.
Morning lows will range from the mid 30s to lower 40s by daybreak.
Some short-term models have suggested some patchy fog will be
possible in districts south of I-20 over the next 3 to 4 hours,
but haven`t seen much in the way of fog development yet. With
light winds and clear skies, can`t completely rule it out, but
confidence is low for this to occur.
Outside of a few passing high clouds today, should see sunny skies
with high temps in the low to mid 70s. Mixing heights are expected
to climb above 4000 feet, with min RH values generally from 25 to
35 percent. Winds will become southwesterly today, between 5 to 10
mph. The higher winds will be in districts along and north of the
Interstate 30 corridor, where gusts could climb as high as 15 to
20 mph between noon and 4 pm this afternoon.
Dry conditions will remain on Saturday, with mixing heights
climbing above 4000 feet again. However, expect high temps to be a
few degrees warmer and min RH values to be about 5 percent higher.
