If conditions become unrepresentative, contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION... Mild, dry weather Thursday with average afternoon winds. A weather system approaches late Thursday into early Friday. Southwest winds pick up after 2300 PST Thursday, with windiest conditions along the far eastern and northern perimeters of the fire as well as in wind-prone canyons. Precipitation starts as early as 0100 PST Friday, with the heaviest precipitation expected after 0400 PST to about 0900 PST. A heavier shower with rates of 0.50"/hour is possible. Precipitation chances taper off Friday afternoon into early Saturday, and precipitation will become lighter and more isolated, ending Saturday morning. Snow levels dropping to about 4500 ft MSL early Friday, with a dusting of snow possible down to 4000 ft MSL late Friday into early Saturday. Total Precipitation: 0.20" (lower elevations) to about 0.30" (higher elevations) in liquid precipitation expected. 40% chance for more than 0.30", 30% chance for more than 0.50" (generally at higher elevations). A dusting of snow up to an inch of snow for elevations 4000-7000 ft, up to 1.5" snow 7000 ft and above. Santa Ana winds: Moderate to high confidence in winds turning northeasterly late Mon (11/18) into early Tues (11/19) morning with a least a weak Santa Ana event likely continuing into early Thu (11/21). Based on current evidence, this will most likely this will be a moderately strong event with a 10% chance for a strong event.
