An unseasonably deep trough of low pressure will bring mostly light rain from the coast to the mountains late tonight into Friday afternoon. Light, scattered showers are expected Friday morning mostly west of the mountains. By Friday afternoon, chances of thunderstorms enter the forecast for the Inland Empire, San Bernardino mountains, and the High Desert. Rain rates are expected to be 0.25 to 0.50 inches per hour in thunderstorms. Most coastal and valley locations should receive 0.10 inch of rain or less, higher amounts possible where thunderstorms develop in the Inland Empire. Rainfall totals for the mountains will be variable. 0.10-0.30 inches are expected with higher amounts where thunderstorms develop.
