...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NEWTON...MCDONALD AND SOUTHERN
JASPER COUNTIES THROUGH 830 AM CDT...

At 744 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Goodman, or near Pineville, moving north at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Fidelity, Shoal Creek Estates, Duquesne, Sarcoxie, Dennis Acres,
Grand Falls Plaza, Fairview, Oakland Park, Joplin, Goodman, Granby,
Leawood, Loma Linda, Big Sugar Creek State Park, Lanagan, Airport
Drive, Rocky Comfort, Saginaw, Iron Gates, and Racine.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 44 between mile markers 1 and 32.
 Interstate 49 near mile marker 1, and between mile markers 3 and 39.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 AM CDT for
southeastern Kansas...and southwestern Missouri.
