This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Marginal tornado risk.
  Marginal hail risk.
  Slight thunderstorm wind damage risk.
  Elevated lightning risk.
  Elevated excessive rainfall risk
  Significant Fog risk.

DISCUSSION...

A thunderstorm complex will move through southeast Kansas and
southern Missouri between 3am and 9am. Damaging winds to 60 mph,
frequent lightning and localized flash flooding are the most
likely hazards for locations southwest of Springfield. There is a
low chance of a brief spin up tornado closer to the Oklahoma state
line. This thunderstorm complex will likely weaken and exit the
area by mid to late morning.

Additional thunderstorms could form during the afternoon and
evening hours across areas north of I-44 and east of Highway 65.
If these storms form then a few could produce hail to the size of
quarters and damaging winds. Confidence in these storms occuring
is low.

Dense fog will occur this morning across the Lake of the Ozarks
and Rolla areas with visibility less than one quarter mile. Dense
fog then looks to redevelop tonight into Sunday morning across
most of the area.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

A cold front will move into the area Sunday afternoon which looks
to cause additional strong to severe thunderstorms. Large hail to
the size of golf balls and damaging winds are the most likely
hazards, especially across southeast Kansas and west central
Missouri, closer to Highway 54.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed this morning across southeast
Kansas and far southwest Missouri.
