Fire Weather Planning Forecast for southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri
National Weather Service Springfield MO
1142 AM CDT Fri Mar 28 2025

.DISCUSSION...

A few showers are occurring across southern Missouri this morning
and will continue to push further north towards central Missouri
through the afternoon. A sharpening surface pressure gradient will
increase southerly wind speeds today to 15 to 25 mph with gusts up
to 35 to 40 mph, especially along I-49 between 3 to 5 PM. These will
have slightly enhanced effects on ridge tops and north-south oriented
valleys. The southerly winds, however, will gradually increase moisture
across the area, with most locations seeing minimum relative
humidities above 40%. Some areas in the eastern Ozarks look to
drop into the 30-40% range, though.

Winds stay southerly with moderate speeds through Sunday morning,
with chances of showers and thunderstorms ramping up Saturday night
through Sunday morning.
