Fire Weather Planning Forecast for southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri

.DISCUSSION...

Surface high pressure and a drier and cooler air mass is moving
into the region behind a cold frontal passage that move through
the area early today. Northerly winds will continue to gradually
weaken this afternoon as the area of surface high pressure moves
towards the area with light winds expected this evening and tonight.
Southeasterly winds will return on Wednesday but remain on the light
side.

Afternoon humidity values will be in the 20 to 35 percent range today
and the 15 to 30 percent range on Wednesday with the driest conditions
across southeastern Kansas and far southwestern Missouri.

Cooler conditions will continue into Wednesday then warmer conditions
will return Thursday into the weekend.

No measurable rainfall is expected across the area over the next week.
