The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Eastern Douglas County in southwestern Missouri...
  Western Ozark County in southwestern Missouri...
  Eastern Taney County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until 430 AM CDT.

* At 1031 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
  1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of
  0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
  ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Theodosia, Pontiac, Wasola, Sundown, Noble, Willhoit, Squires,
  Thornfield, Rockbridge, Brixey, Isabella, Long Run, Brushyknob,
  Gentryville, Brownbranch, Drury, Vanzant, Rueter, Protem, Bull
  Shoals Lake and Bryant Creek State Park.

This includes the following low water crossings...
  North Fork River at County Road 278, Pond Fork at County Road 883,
  Little North Fork River at County Road 916, Bryant Creek at County
  Road 223, Little North Fork at Haskins Ford Road, North Fork River
  at Highway EE and Fox Creek at County Road 246.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
