The National Weather Service in Springfield has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Western Douglas County in southwestern Missouri...
  Western Ozark County in southwestern Missouri...
  Eastern Taney County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until 930 AM CST.

* At 518 AM CST, gauge reports indicated flooding is occurring from
  heavy rain that has fallen across the warned area. Between 4 and 8
  inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Gauges reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Ava, Theodosia, Wasola, Sundown, Rome, Thornfield, Brownbranch,
  Squires, Long Run, Noble, Goodhope, Rueter, Protem, Brushyknob and
  Bull Shoals Lake.

This includes the following low water crossings...
  Little North Fork at Haskins Ford Road, Beaver Creek at County
  Road 524, Pond Fork at County Road 883, Cowskin Creek at Highway
  Y, Bryant Creek at Highway U, Little North Fork River at County
  Road 916 and Bryant Creek at County Road 223.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
