Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast

.SYNOPSIS...
The overall pattern for the week looks to remain cool with a few
periods of precipitation at Mount Rainier National Park. Showery
precipitation will brush the area Monday into Tuesday and not
again until more widespread precipitation threatens the region
Thursday into Friday. Temperatures late in the week should also
trend a bit warmer.

.IMPACTS...Strong winds in alpine regions on the mountain,
including the Muir snowfield, will make it difficult to move
safely and could produce local whiteout conditions. A high level
of skill and experience in alpine terrain, including use of GPS,
is recommended for navigation and camping in these conditions.

.SUNDAY NIGHT...Partly cloudy until early morning then becoming
mostly cloudy. A slight chance of rain and snow late in the
night. Snow level near 3000 feet. Freezing level near 5000 feet
in the evening.
.MONDAY...Partly sunny. A slight chance of rain and snow in the
morning, then a chance of rain and snow in the afternoon. Snow
level near 5000 feet.
.MONDAY NIGHT...Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and snow in
the evening, then mostly cloudy with rain and snow after
midnight. Snow accumulation near Paradise around 1 inch. Snow
level near 6000 feet.
.TUESDAY...Cloudy with rain and snow in the morning, then mostly
cloudy with a chance of rain and snow in the afternoon. Light
snow accumulations. Snow level near 4000 feet.
