Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast

.SYNOPSIS...A weak atmospheric river will sag south over the area
then dissipate Sunday night as cold front moves through the area.
The next weather system will arrive late Tuesday. A cool upper
level trough will be over Western Washington Wednesday into
Thursday. Another weather system will arrive at the end of the
week.

.IMPACTS...Stormy weather will create difficult backcountry
skiing and mountaineering conditions across much of the alpine
terrain of Mt. Rainier, including the Muir snowfield. Blizzard-
like conditions with strong winds and near zero visibility are
likely. A high level of skill and experience in alpine terrain,
including use of GPS, is recommended for navigation and camping in
these conditions.

.SUNDAY NIGHT...Rain and snow in the evening, then showers after
midnight. Snow showers after midnight. Snow accumulation near
Paradise of 4 to 8 inches. Snow level near 4000 feet decreasing
to 2000 feet after midnight.
.MONDAY...Partly sunny. A chance of snow showers in the morning,
then a chance of showers in the afternoon. Snow level near
2000 feet.
.MONDAY NIGHT...Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers in the
evening, then a chance of snow showers after midnight. Snow level
near 2000 feet.
.TUESDAY...Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow showers in the
morning, then mostly cloudy with showers in the afternoon. Light
snow accumulations. Snow level near 3000 feet in the afternoon.
