976 SXUS46 KSEW 092233 RECSEW Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast National Weather Service Seattle WA 333 PM PDT Sun Mar 9 2025 .SYNOPSIS...A weak atmospheric river will sag south over the area then dissipate Sunday night as cold front moves through the area. The next weather system will arrive late Tuesday. A cool upper level trough will be over Western Washington Wednesday into Thursday. Another weather system will arrive at the end of the week. && .IMPACTS...Stormy weather will create difficult backcountry skiing and mountaineering conditions across much of the alpine terrain of Mt. Rainier, including the Muir snowfield. Blizzard- like conditions with strong winds and near zero visibility are likely. A high level of skill and experience in alpine terrain, including use of GPS, is recommended for navigation and camping in these conditions. && .SUNDAY NIGHT...Rain and snow in the evening, then showers after midnight. Snow showers after midnight. Snow accumulation near Paradise of 4 to 8 inches. Snow level near 4000 feet decreasing to 2000 feet after midnight. .MONDAY...Partly sunny.
