...EASTERN REGION NETWORK DEGRADED - UPDATE 2...

NCO`s network team and ER`s systems division are going to stand
down for the night. At this time most network services have been
restored, including AD, LDM and ERH hosted VPN. AWIPS logon at
ERH remains an issue. ERH/SIB will re-engage with NCO on Monday
to further work on the AWIPS logon issue and further
post-recovery network work.

KNOWN OPERATIONAL IMPACTS ACROSS EASTERN REGION:

-WFOs and RFCs are not receiving their full suite of forecast
guidance in AWIPS (this includes supplemental model data, mesonet
observations, and MRMS data). Data sent via the SBN remains
available. Troubleshooting will resume on Monday.

ISSUES THAT SHOULD BE RESOLVED:

-WFOs need to use backup procedures/workarounds to reach their
Windows drives, which are heavily used to create DSS briefings
and Weather Stories.

-WFOs need to use backup procedures/workarounds to get Point
Forecasts to update on IDP applications (this includes
weather.gov and api.weather.gov).

-WFOs need to use backup procedures/workarounds to transmit upper
air data to WCOSS for model ingest.

-WFO wind grids are not being used for NWPS grid production.
