Most reports began after 5 PM Friday, but continued through the evening. Three funnel clouds were also reported. 0400 PM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg 2 NE Reidsville 36.37N 79.65W 09/27/2024 Rockingham NC 911 Call Center Numerous trees and some power lines were downed county wide by winds associated with the remnants of Hurricane Helene. Reports began around 4 PM and continued through the evening. 0800 PM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg 1 ESE Danbury 36.41N 80.20W 09/27/2024 Stokes NC Emergency Mngr About 50-75 trees and power lines reported down. One House had damage from a tree falling on it. 1200 PM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg Beech Mountain 36.21N 81.89W 09/27/2024 Watauga NC Trained Spotter Countless trees and powerlines blown down blocking numerous roads across Beech Mountain. Damage was widespread. 1200 PM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg 1 NE Amherst 37.59N 79.04W 09/27/2024 Amherst VA 911 Call Center Reports of downed trees and powerlines from winds associated with the remnants of Hurricane Helene began around 12 PM through about 9 PM. Downed trees and powerlines were scattered throughout the county, but many reports were in the northern half of the county. 1230 PM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg 1 ESE Appomattox 37.35N 78.81W 09/27/2024 Appomattox VA 911 Call Center Reports of 11 downed trees and powerlines from winds associated with the remnants of Helene began around 1230 PM and continued through the night, scattered throughout the count. 0900 AM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg 3 NW Millboro 37.99N 79.63W 09/27/2024 Bath VA 911 Call Center Around 50 trees were downed by winds associated with the remnants of Helene, starting after 9 AM and continuing until the late evening. Reports of downed trees and a few power lines continued into Friday night. 0700 AM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg Bedford 37.33N 79.51W 09/27/2024 Bedford VA 911 Call Center Over 50 trees and powerlines were downed by winds from the remnants of Helene, beginning by 7 AM and continuing until Friday evening. 1000 AM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg 1 NE Rocky Gap 37.25N 81.08W 09/27/2024 Bland VA 911 Call Center Trees were downed across the county by winds from the remnants of Helene, causing numerous power outages and road closures, especially in the Little Creek Road area. 0530 AM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg 1 WNW Fincastle 37.50N 79.89W 09/27/2024 Botetourt VA 911 Call Center More than 50 trees were downed by winds associated with the remnants of Helene county wide, beginning after 5:30 AM through the evening Friday. 0300 AM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg Buckingham 37.55N 78.55W 09/27/2024 Buckingham VA 911 Call Center The remnants of Helene brought down about 20 downed trees and powerlines beginning around 3 AM Friday and continued through 7 PM Friday. 1045 AM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg Rustburg 37.28N 79.09W 09/27/2024 Campbell VA 911 Call Center A dozen trees were downed by winds associated with the remnants Helene, starting after 10:45 AM. The reports were from the Lynch Station, Altavista, Evington, Rustburg, and Concord areas. 1000 PM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg 1 W Hillsville 36.77N 80.74W 09/27/2024 Carroll VA 911 Call Center Trees were downed county wide by winds from Helene, the majority of which began mid Friday morning and continued through the day. 0100 PM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg 1 N Charlotte Court Hou 37.07N 78.63W 09/27/2024 Charlotte VA 911 Call Center About five trees were downed by winds associated with remnants of Helene, starting after 1 PM, and scattered throughout the county. 1000 AM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg 3 SW New Castle 37.48N 80.15W 09/27/2024 Craig VA 911 Call Center Numerous trees were downed by winds from Hurricane Helene on Friday, beginning around 10 AM and continuing through much of the day. Downed trees occurred around the county, but mostly in the areas of Route 621, Route 42, and Route 658. 0130 AM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg Floyd 36.91N 80.32W 09/27/2024 Floyd VA 911 Call Center Around 150 trees were downed by winds from Helene all over the county. Damage began around 130 AM and ended around 7 PM. 0900 AM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg Rocky Mount 37.00N 79.88W 09/27/2024 Franklin VA 911 Call Center Around 89 trees were downed by winds associated with the remnants of Hurricane Helene, beginning around 9 AM Friday and continuing through 5 PM. The wind damage was scattered throughout the county. 1000 AM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg 1 NW Independence 36.63N 81.16W 09/27/2024 Grayson VA Public Trees were downed county wide from winds associated with Hurricane Helene, beginning prior to 10 AM and continuing through the day. 0700 AM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg 1 ESE Blacksburg 37.22N 80.39W 09/27/2024 Montgomery VA Public Around 90 trees and powerlines were downed by winds from Hurricane Helene throughout the county, beginning around 7 AM and continuing through the night. 0100 AM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg 1 ESE Ararat 36.60N 80.51W 09/27/2024 Patrick VA 911 Call Center Numerous trees and powerlines were downed by winds from Hurricane Helene throughout the county, but many in the Ararat area. Damage began after 1 AM on Friday, and continued through most of the day. 0800 PM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg 3 ENE Pulaski 37.06N 80.75W 09/27/2024 Pulaski VA 911 Call Center Numerous trees were downed county wind from winds associated with Helene, beginning around 8 AM Friday and continuing through the day. 1000 AM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg 1 N Natural Bridge 37.65N 79.55W 09/27/2024 Rockbridge VA 911 Call Center Between 60 and 70 trees were downed by winds associated with the remnants of Helene, mostly after 11 AM. Many of the reports were in the Natural Bridge and Glasgow area, the central and southern parts of the county, but other reports were scattered throughout the county. 0700 AM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg Chilhowie 36.80N 81.69W 09/27/2024 Smyth VA 911 Call Center Trees were downed by winds from Helene county wide, especially in the Saltville area. 0300 AM Tstm Wnd Dmg 1 NNW Tazewell 37.13N 81.52W 09/27/2024 Tazewell VA 911 Call Center Trees were downed by winds from Helene across the county, beginning as early as 300 AM, but mostly after 6 AM and continuing through the day, and into Saturday morning. 1000 AM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg 1 ESE Wytheville 36.95N 81.07W 09/27/2024 Wythe VA 911 Call Center Trees were downed county wide by winds from Helene, the majority of which began mid Friday morning and continued through the day. 0800 AM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg 2 NE Lewisburg 37.81N 80.43W 09/27/2024 Greenbrier WV 911 Call Center Over 180 trees were downed across the county by winds associated with the remnants of Helene, beginning after 8 AM and continuing into the night. 0600 AM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg 2 W Princeton 37.36N 81.14W 09/27/2024 Mercer WV Emergency Mngr Hundreds of trees down across Mercer County due to high winds associated with Helene. Reports started around 6 AM Friday morning an continued throughout the day before slowing around 7 PM. There was one indirect injury when a man broke his leg while cutting a tree after the winds subsided. 0900 AM Non-Tstm Wnd Dmg 1 NNW Union 37.60N 80.54W 09/27/2024 Monroe WV 911 Call Center Over 50 trees and powerlines county wide were downed by winds from the remnants of Helene, beginning after 9 AM and ending overnight. && $$
