...The National Weather Service in Blacksburg VA has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in West Virginia...

  Greenbrier River At Alderson affecting Greenbrier, Summers and
  Monroe Counties.

.Runoff from the heavy rain Thursday is resulting in a significant
rise of the Greenbrier River. Minor flooding is expected along the
Greenbrier River within Greenbrier County, and downstream of
Alderson into Summers and Monroe Counties.

For the Greenbrier River...including Alderson...Minor flooding is
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM EARLY THIS MORNING TO JUST AFTER
MIDNIGHT FRIDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Greenbrier River at Alderson.

* WHEN...From early this morning to just after midnight tonight.

* IMPACTS...Impacts...Between 12 to 14 feet, flooding begins along
  portions of Rout 3 and Route 12 downstream from Alderson near
  Eagle Branch, making roads impassible. At 15.0 feet, Farm land
  along river bank near gage is flooded. Flooding is also likely
  upstream toward Ronceverte.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:45 PM EST Thursday the stage was 11.8 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 14.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage Friday
    morning, cresting between 14 and 15 feet. It will then fall
    below flood stage Friday night...receding to near 6.0 feet by
    Sunday morning.
  - Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to the crest that just
    occurred February 1, 2025, and a previous crest of 14.7 feet
    on 02/18/2023.
