The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Western Halifax County in south central Virginia...

* Until 330 AM EDT.

* At 930 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the
  warned area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flash
  flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  South Boston...                    Halifax...
  Ingram...                          Turbeville...
  Nathalie...                        Crystal Hill...
  Leda...

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Banister River, Bales Spring Branch, Armistead Branch and Ballous
  Creek.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather
