...FLOOD WATCH THAT WAS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6AM TODAY IS CANCELLED...

The Flood Watch is cancelled for portions of central and west
central Virginia, including the following areas, in central
Virginia, Amherst. In west central Virginia, Bath and Rockbridge.

Flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat this morning. Please
continue to heed remaining road closures.

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM NOON EDT TODAY THROUGH THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Virginia, including the following
  counties, Amherst, Bath and Rockbridge.

* WHEN...From noon EDT today through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Expect another round of showers, and possibly a few
    thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Locally heavy
    rainfall on saturated soils could lead to flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
