...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN PUTNAM AND WEST
CENTRAL KANAWHA COUNTIES THROUGH 715 AM EDT...

At 642 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Tornado, or near Nitro, moving east at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Charleston, Nitro, Jefferson, South Charleston, St. Albans, Dunbar,
Cross Lanes, Institute, Tornado, Teays Valley, and Alum Creek.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 79 between mile markers 1 and 3.
 Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 97 and 109.
 Interstate 64 in West Virginia between mile markers 45 and 57.
 Route 119 between mile markers 72 and 80.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
