West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Code Orange Air Quality Advisory due to elevated particulate matter from Canadian wildfire smoke across West Virgina until 10 PM EDT this evening. Weather conditions may cause fluctuations in air quality throughout the day, and some areas may experience periods where the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaches the 101-150 range (orange), which is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups. An Air Quality Advisory means that Fine Particulates concentrations within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards.
