.DISCUSSION...
Showers and thunderstorms will begin to develop later this
afternoon. Until then, conditions will remain fairly quiet with
mostly clear skies. Cloudiness and thunderstorm chances will
increase through the later half of the afternoon. Most likely
thunderstorm chances (20 to 30%) will be between 1700 and 2000 this
evening, but thunderstorm chances will generally be 10 to 20% after
1500 this afternoon, persisting overnight. Chances for rain and
thunderstorms will increase significantly Thursday after 1400.
Winds should remain generally less than 20 mph through the next 12
hours with the prevailing direction being out of the southwest.
With the showers and thunderstorms this evening, winds could be
gustier and more erratic, with gusts 30 to 40 mph possible.
Notably, between 1900 and 2300, winds may shift and be out of the
north or northeast for a period of time. Expect stronger
southwesterly winds Thursday after 1100 with gusty winds
continuing through much of the afternoon.
