...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT PLUMAS...SIERRA AND NEVADA
COUNTIES THROUGH 730 PM PDT...

At 701 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Stampede Reservoir, moving northwest at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Frequent lightning, heavy rain, and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Stampede Reservoir, Sierraville, Ca 89 At Nevada-Sierra Co Line,
Logger Campground, and Upper Little Truckee Campground.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Persons in
campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until this storm
passes.

If on or near Stampede Reservoir, get out of the water and move
indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to
10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you
are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter
now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
