The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Nevada County in northern California...
  Sierra County in northern California...
  Southern Washoe County in western Nevada...

* Until 430 PM PDT.

* At 230 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across portions of I-80 near Verdi and Floriston,
  including the Gold Ranch burn scar. Flash flooding is ongoing or
  expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Debris flows
           possible near the Gold Ranch burn scar.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Verdi and Verdi-Mogul.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
