We`ll see high temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s for much of western NV and eastern Lassen County. Highs for our eastern Sierra communities will be in the mid to upper 50s. Winds will generally light from west with increasing high level clouds by the afternoon. * A quick system arrives on Monday. There are no significant changes to the forecast. There remains a 25-35% chance for precipitation in the Tahoe Basin, a 35-45% chance for western Lassen County, to a 40-60% chance in the Surprise Valley and far northern Washoe County. Overall liquid amounts have not changed, and we`re still looking at between a trace to at best 0.20" in the Sierra with minimal snow accumulations above 7,000`. Winds will become breezy along the Sierra ridges, with gusts between 60-80 mph. We`re also looking at breezy conditions in western NV, with gusts upwards of 30 mph. This will have impacts to boating/lake conditions, especially for Pyramid Lake. This system moves out the region by Monday evening. * High pressure returns Tuesday through at least Thursday. This will allow for warm, late spring-like temperatures that are 15 to 20 degrees above average for mid-April. Thursday is looking like the warmest day this upcoming week, with upper 70s to mid 80s in western NV and eastern Lassen County, to even mid 60s to low 70s for the Sierra communities. * Ensembles show the aforementioned ridge shifting east with a trough approaching the west coast by Friday through the weekend. But there is still considerable uncertainties with the evolution of this upper level pattern. At this time, temperatures will trend to back to average with an increase in winds. -McKellar && .AVIATION... * VFR conditions with only high cirrus clouds to contend with today. Winds will be light from the west this afternoon. * Monday, southwest winds will amplify along the ridges to around 65 kts. This will introduce LLWS and turbulence for the Sierra and far western NV terminals. Showers with this system will be mostly rain with some mixing of snow for the higher elevations above 6,000-7,000 ft. They will also be limited to NE California and far northwestern Nevada, and will be light. -McKellar && .REV Watches/Warnings/Advisories... NV...None. CA...None. && $$
