082 FZPN27 KNHC 011614 OFFPZ7 Offshore Waters Forecast NWS National Hurricane Center Miami, FL 914 AM PDT Tue Oct 1 2024 Offshore Waters Forecast for the E Pacific within 250 nm of Mexico Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height. PMZ001-020415- Synopsis for the E Pacific within 250 nm of Mexico 914 AM PDT Tue Oct 1 2024 .SYNOPSIS...Strong showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue across the area waters from the Gulf of Tehuantepec to offshore of Guerrero, and are associated with two developing low pressure centers. Environmental conditions are expected to be conducive for tropical development south of Tehuantepec, and a tropical depression is likely to form there during the next day or two. This system, 96E, is forecast to meander for the next couple of days before drifting northward towards the southern coast of Mexico. Another area of low pressure, 97E, is centered off the coast of southwestern Mexico. Environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for development in a few days, and a tropical depression is expected to form by the end of the week. The disturbance is forecast to meander near or just offshore of the coast of Mexico for much of the week, and then begin moving slowly west-northwestward, parallel to the coast of Mexico by this weekend. Regardless of development of these systems, areas of heavy rainfall are expected over the forecast waters, where winds and seas will be locally higher.
