Synopsis for the E Pacific within 250 nm of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A broad area of low pressure that involves a
tropical wave is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms
a few miles off the coast of southwestern Mexico. Environmental
conditions appear conducive for gradual development of this
system, and a tropical depression is likely to form during the
next few days while it moves generally west-northwestward,
remaining well off the coast of Mexico. This system is expected
to move into less favorable conditions to develop around the
middle of next week. This system has a medium chance of
formation within the next 48 hours. Elsewhere, moderate to fresh
southeast winds are expected to briefly develop across the northern
and central Gulf of California tonight into Mon. Looking ahead,
moderate to fresh north to northeast gap winds will develop in the
Gulf of Tehuantepec on Mon, with strong winds and locally rough seas
possible by the middle of the upcoming week.
