.DISCUSSION...
Conditions will be dry and generally warmer today, with high
temperatures expected to hit the mid to high-30s. Low clouds and
areas of dense fog will persist into the morning hours, clearing
up prior to midday. This afternoon, skies will begin to clear and
sunny conditions will persist into this evening.
Tonight will be on the cold side again, with lows in the teens.
Closer to morning, a new winter system will move into our area.
Scattered snow showers will pick up in the vicinity by about 5am
local time, lasting through late afternoon to early evening. At
this time, snow accumulations should be minimal to none, but some
areas over the Palmer Divide and the Pikes Peak Region will see
about an inch or so. Given the incoming snow, Thursday`s
temperatures will be cooler once again, with highs in the mid-high
20s.
Looking at winds, today`s surface flow will be out of the south-
southwest, typically around 5 mph or less. North winds will set in
tonight after midnight, sustained around 10 mph with gusts to
about 18 mph. These north winds will increase more on Thursday,
sustained around 20-25 mph with gusts reaching 30-35 mph, with an
occasional gust closer to 40 mph possible during the mid-afternoon
hours.
