.DISCUSSION...
Today`s conditions will be a relatively weak monsoon setup. High
temperatures over the slopes will be in the 60s-70s, with relative
humidity values between 15 and 20 percent this afternoon. Winds will
generally remain out of the west-southwest through most of the
afternoon, but should swing around to more northerly late afternoon
into this evening. Few showers, if any, are anticipated over the
forecast site today, with a 10-15 percent chance overall. Isolated
showers are anticipated in the area, but coverage will be sparse,
and little precipitation, if any, should actually hit the ground.
However, gusty outflow winds will be possible in the vicinity of any
showers, with gusts 35 mph or more possible. Additionally, showers
will also be capable of producing cloud to ground lightning. Best
chance for storms will be between 12-5 PM today.
Winds will weaken overnight, generally out of the north and 5 mph or
less. RH will recover above 50 percent or so, and overnight low
temperatures will be in the 30s-40s. Tuesday will see similar high
temperatures and RH to Monday. Chances for showers and storms will
be about the same, 10 to 15 percent, once again mainly between 12-5
PM. Winds throughout the day will start more north-northeast,
turning more easterly by afternoon. Any showers in the area will
dissipate into the evening, as the area briefly dries out around
midweek.
