from noon until 9 PM MDT Friday...
.Discussion...
Isolated shower and storm activity across the district this
afternoon and early evening is expected to be restricted to the
southern mountains and plains. Activity is forecast to diminish by
around 7 PM, with clearing skies overnight.
Unseasonably warm temperatures will return across southern CO
once again for Friday with near record highs. Increasing west to
southwest winds will boost temperatures, and will also produce
critical fire weather conditions across the San Luis Valley and
portions of the southern I-25 Corridor. Therefore, the ongoing
Watch has been upgraded to a Red Flag Warning.
A weather system will bring a better chance for showers to the region
Friday night through the weekend, particularly for the mountains.
The southern I-25 corridor and San Luis Valley could see spotty
critical to near critical fire weather conditions return at times.
Temperatures warm again into next week with critical fire weather
conditions increasing again towards mid week.
Surface-based inversions will be gin to break tomorrow between
0900 and 1000, with ventilation rates improving to Very Good to
Excellent for all areas by 1300. Favorable smoke dispersion is
forecast to persist until 1900. Looking ahead to Saturday, expect
similar timing but slightly more restricted ventilation rates.
