.Discussion...
Scattered afternoon and evening showers and storms remain in the
forecast today and tomorrow across the southeast mountains and
plains, with more isolated storms possible across western portions
of the district. Some of the storms across the plains could be
strong to severe. Temperatures will remain around seasonal levels
through Monday, before warmer and drier conditions return for the
middle of the week, as upper high pressure builds back across
the Central Rockies. The upper high gets pushed south through
the end of the work week, bringing breezy westerly winds and hot
temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday, with criticial fire weather
conditions possible on Thursday. Cooler and more unsettled
conditions remain on tap for Friday and into next weekend.
Afternoon smoke dispersions will be very good or better across the
western half of the district today, and generally good or better
across eastern Colorado, with similar smoke dispersion trends
anticipated for Monday.
