.Discussion...
Elevated fire conditions are expected across portions of the I-25
corridor on Thursday. Relative humidity values will fall into the
low to mid teens across the mountain adjacent plains tomorrow,
with breezy west winds near the mountains also likely. Any
stronger westerly winds in this area are expected to remain
localized, and headlines are not anticipated at this time.
Stronger southerly winds are likely on the far eastern plains, but
humidity will be higher out east as well.
Through this evening, strong to severe thunderstorms remain
possible over the high country, with continued flooding possible
over the San Juans and the Rio Grande Valley. While the risk of
severe storms is highest west of the I-25, an isolated strong to
potentially severe storm over the I-25 corridor can`t be ruled out
through this evening. Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms
will be possible over the eastern plains on Thursday as well. A
pattern change arrives on Friday, ushering in cooler and drier
weather conditions. Our first frost/freeze headlines may be
possible over portions of the plains through the weekend.
Smoke dispersion is expected to be very good to excellent on
Thursday, and generally fair to very good on Friday.
