857 FNUS75 KPSR 300221 FWSPSR Spot Forecast for Boulder View...US Forest Service National Weather Service Phoenix AZ 721 PM MST Sat Jun 29 2024 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 0500 PDT on June 30. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION... Wind through Sunday morning will continue to follow typical diurnal and terrain influences, with northerly drainage winds developing near or slightly after midnight tonight. Light north to northeast winds will continue until 0700-0800 MST before shifting southwest Sunday morning. However, there may be a shift to the southeast around 0300-0500 MST as a weak disturbance moves up from the southeast. This disturbance will be capable of producing a few high-based showers and an isolated storm, but CWR remains under 5%. A vicinity shower could also generate brief erratic winds. Southwesterly winds heading into the afternoon Sunday will increase up to around 10 mph with occasional gusts as high as 15-20 mph. Monsoon activity is expected to be more robust later Sunday afternoon and evening with up to 30% chances for rain. There will be better chances of experiencing thunderstorm outflows Sunday than the storms themselves, with indications of up to 50% of an outflow from the southeast or east around or after 1700 MST, with wind gusts in excess of 35 mph. Rain and storm chances will be a bit lower Monday (~15%) and if Sunday ends up quite active, Monday may end up being a down day, but the heavy rain and gusty outflow wind risk will still be there Monday. Minimum RH values will remain above critical thresholds and afternoon temperatures will be slightly above normal, reaching the upper 90s to lower 100s. ...Thunderstorms imply gusty winds...
