.DISCUSSION...
Brief elevated fire weather conditions are possible tonight
through Monday morning with increased easterly winds combining
with very dry conditions. An increased easterly gradient wind is
expected to develop tonight and persist through Monday morning,
with ridgetop winds reaching up to 15-20 mph and gusting up to
25-30 mph. Sheltered valley locations, like where much of the
initial burning has taken place, should be protected from the
strongest winds during the overnight hours. Breeziest valley
winds, gusting up to 20-25 mph, will likely occur for a few hours
after sunrise with mixout, between 0800-1200 MST Monday. Winds
are not expected to be as strong today, but a few easterly gusts
could reach 20-25 mph with mixout this morning. Winds will also be
lighter during the afternoons with 5-10 mph speeds and occasional
15-20 mph gusts. Wind directions are expected to still follow
typical diurnal upslope and downslope tendencies, with easterly
overnight through the mornings and westerly to northwesterly in
the afternoon.

Aside from the wind, very hot temperatures for this time of the
year are expected, with afternoon temperatures in the 100s. This
will contribute to very dry conditions the next 36-48 hours, with
minimum afternoon RH values in the 5-15% range with an overnight
recovery only to 15-20%.
