Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest and South-Central
Arizona and Southeast California
National Weather Service Phoenix AZ
1248 AM MST Wed Aug 6 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Very hot conditions with record or near record high temperatures
are expected today and Thursday. Marginal moisture may allow some
isolated afternoon weak storms to form over the high terrain of
the far eastern district, bringing slight chances (~10%) for dry
lightning. Winds will follow typical diurnal patterns with
afternoon upslope gusts to 15-25 mph. Afternoon minRHs will remain
stable through Thursday, with values bottoming out between 8-12%
across the lower deserts to 15% for higher terrain areas.

...Thunderstorms imply gusty winds...
