236 PM PDT Tue Oct 14 2025

...FREEZE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 9 AM PDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 to 32 degrees
  expected.

* WHERE...Upper Hood River Valley.

* WHEN...From 1 AM to 9 AM PDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other
  sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
  plumbing.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There is a 65 to 85% chance of overnight low
  temperatures falling below freezing, and a 30 to 60% chance of
  falling below 30 degrees by sunrise on Wednesday morning. In both
  cases, the chances are higher farther up the valley and lower
  toward Hood River proper.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to
drip slowly.

Take steps now to protect tender outdoor plants from the cold.
Consider temporarily moving outdoor potted plants indoors if they
are sensitive to cold temperatures.

Consider temporarily covering sensitive plants with a lightweight
cotton fabric (i.e., bedsheets, thin blankets), as this will help
retain heat and provide frost protection for your plants.

...FROST ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 9 AM PDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Temperatures of 32 to 36 degrees will result in frost
  formation.

* WHERE...South Willamette Valley, North Oregon Coast Range
  Lowlands, East Central Willamette Valley, and Cowlitz County
  Lowlands.

* WHEN...From 1 AM to 9 AM PDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive
  outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The Nehalem River Valley, including Vernonia
  and Pittsburg, is the most likely area within the Coast Range to
  see temperatures fall below freezing. In those areas, there is a
  70 to 90% chance of a true freeze, and a nearly 100% chance of
  frost, so those with agricultural interests or sensitive outdoor
  plants should take more substantial preventative measures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take steps now to protect tender outdoor plants from the cold.
Consider temporarily moving outdoor potted plants indoors if they
are sensitive to cold temperatures.

Consider temporarily covering sensitive plants with a lightweight
